Registering for the OKU Card with JKM

The OKU card, issued through the Social Welfare Department, unlocks many services and benefits.

Persons with disabilities in Malaysia can register with the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) and receive a Kad OKU. Autism is one of the recognised categories of disability.

Registration generally requires a medical report confirming the diagnosis, along with identification documents and photographs. Requirements and forms can be updated, so check the JKM website or your district welfare office for the current process.

The card can help families access services such as certain financial assistance, public transport concessions, tax-related benefits and priority in some programmes. Keep copies of your documents and renew or update records when required.
